Historiography or How to study History...

APUSH first unit...
This is a great way to focus students on the discipline of history. They need to know how to approach history and be able to analyze the significance of events.
This unit extends the Wineburg Historical Thinking Approach, basically students will be trained to analyze the events/facts/ the history into meaningful parts.

Remember, it's not just about the fact of what happened, it's about the meaning we give those facts.

Students will be able to understand the different ways historians create history, different approaches they may use...

We start with Historical Thinking Terms/Strategies then we apply those concepts to the film Rashomon directed by Akira Kurosawa, finishing up with an Essay on this film.
