The Protect Our Pointers (POP) Committee leads the fundraising efforts to support and staff the PLHS Athletics Training Department with a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), while also supporting an awareness program that changes the culture of safety in sports through the empowerment of all Pointers. Since January of 2011, PLHS has funded a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to staff a daily Clinic in our Athletic Training Room for a minimum of 3 hours a day for the entire school year. We keep a tally of clinic visits by sport, last year there were approx 3000 visits to the daily Clinic, not including athletes who needed to be taped or iced.
POP must raise approximately $30,000.00 to keep the Athletic Training Department in service ALL Year! The District provides ZERO funds ! All $30k must be raised by POP.
Who is POP?
EVERY Parent or Guardian of a PLHS Athlete is a member of POP! Together we roll up our sleeves and open our check books to continue to Protect Our Pointers!
