about World War 1 and let me turn the music down Alexa turn the music off hey the guy that my son has you could set up down here I don't know if you can tell just to make his bed every day but that's okay know what I want is Brinkley here it is look at this one for a second please do the chap 2 sections of the Reading Road to war Wilson's new trial that's a big part of the AP preparedness and pacifism that's big part in the war for democracy these are off focus points that you need to know about how we enter the war American expeditionary Force that's the name of the troops that we send overseas what was the military struggle like again they don't care if he doesn't care much about the new technology that's easy tanks and airplanes and submarines poison gas we've already done that hopefully you did that last year but that's what the technology is going to deal with the war and American society that is the focus when you pay attention to World War Z look at how are tidy changes industrialization is a major factor propaganda is a major factor trying to stay neutral was a major factor be in the very beginning hey the economy loans to the Europeans to the British in the French and then to the axis of the Germans or shoot me the Central Powers so all of those things are going to be very important to take notice of what happened to people who complained about the war that we violate civil liberties we had to do rationing they had propaganda it mean there's all kinds of really important things though that they want you to pay attention to and then how did we get involved in the more unrestricted submarine warfare the fourteen points is how Wilson's vision for the postwar future and this is the concept of collective security why he's so important African Americans during the war women during the war the Red Scare after the war the ratification about all of this stuff that you need to be familiar with be able to summarize and if you again where do you find that English immigrants we have Italian sweet you know Greeks and Russians and tremendous of mixing in the American cities but what is fundamental again is you come from your if you're going to have the attitudes of that European country and if your German you're going to want the Germans to win if you're Irish you're going to want the Germans to win if your English you want the British to win in the France your Russian you want the French the Allies twin so and then of course most of the country is wasp and they want the English to win so you got the Computing neutrality ideas Augusta psychological and ethnic ties is involved a very important preparedness and pacifism the beginning of the war Wilson says we going to stay out of the war you know he's elected 1912 1914 the war starts he's re-elected 19 16 in his slogan was he kept us out of War he tried to prevent American entrance in the war then you got to find out what how do we get in the morning at 4 you get this piece and prepared maybe the word war is coming we got to be prepared we're going to try and stay out maybe we'll get maybe we need to be prepared and then we get an evolved in the war because of unrestricted submarine warfare when they start closing down the sea we have to go to Worley stats with Wilson argument is and then he's going to make this purposeful War the meaning of the war will be to end all wars to create a new world order will we will we will have collective security in an international organization known as the League of Nations post-war that's going to be a problem it's called the ratification fight Wilson's 14 Points he says out of this become a positive New World Order where we going to prevent War that's what the fourteen points is really about doesn't happen if clearly when we can talk about mobilizing we are talking about how do we change a mirror economy from to domestic consumer goods and export goods to military goods we have to manage the economy we need food for the American population but the troops overseas we need to ration equipment and an energy resources like oil and coal we have to manage the complicated raising of money and things of that nature and they created a sinkhole the war boards the war in Industry Board basically was the central manager very smart yeah we need something like that for this coronavirus thing essential management croup they had the fuel board they had the food for they had industrial board and the labor board so we didn't have stripes and all those things are going to have a lot of the the focus propaganda how do we control public opinion if if we lose public opinion in a democracy we don't fight the war we lose the war and so just like Lincoln had to candid public opinion with suspending civil liberties new habeas corpus so does Wilson and we get to new laws the Sedition alien not alien Sedition Acts of sedition and Espionage Act still in so these are the focus items things you should pay attention to I want to go back to some of the questions here is that the big essay question and I wish I wish I could ride on this but it's not allowing me to write can you drop this right here best view mobilization for World War 1 alter the lives of millions of civilians Describe the impact on American society three of the following so your end game when we're done you got to know about women in the war you got to know about African Americans they move north for the first time out in in America critics what happened to people who cry guys who were some examples of what were the laws civil liberties as soon as funding of the war how do we pay for it we got taxes we got a war bonds and then how to administer resources to fuel and Food Administration wheat sugar meat food at cetera so your goal is to pay attention of those three four five major topics again going back to our Focus these areas neutrality preparedness mobilization financing the American people women African-American those are the made Big L how does the War affect these things alrighty so that's our goal that's our task hopefully this works for you I don't know hopefully this works for you so I'm going to sign
