Welcome to the 2018 - 2019 school year at Point Loma High School. Our desire is to help each student become a life-long learner and, through the course of high school, learn the academic, social and workplace skills to allow them to compete successfully in the 21st century global economy. We call this the Pointer Way. We are committed as educators to see all students succeed through high school and be ready for the world the day after graduation.
I have always said that Point Loma High School is “rich in tradition while leading in innovation”. This is truer than ever as we enter our 94rd year! Our educational pathways are designed to meet the needs of all of our students will ensure PLHS will remain not only relevant, but a leader in education for years to come.
All of the principals in the Point Loma Cluster are committed to work together ensuring our students receive the finest education. We believe that by working as a team and staying focused on our collective work, students become more engaged in their learning. When students take ownership of their education in high school, they become more empowered in their adult lives.
We are also excited to welcome several new staff members as Pointers. This includes our new Vice Principal, Heather Seaton. Ms. Seaton comes to us from Yucaipa High School and is a tremendously talented administrator. While we are sorry to see Dr. Eric Brown move to another district, we are very excited to welcome Heather. Be sure to stop in and say “hello” to her.
Thank you for allowing us the privilege of working with your students, and for all you do to support and encourage our staff and students as we work together to Engage, Empower, and Educate our students for the challenges of the 21st century.
With Pointer Pride,
