it's hard to imagine the back of the 1920s our little neighborhood of Point Loma was all different cars were slower and houses were few and far between the population in Point Loma was minimal yet please knew that wouldn't last long  so construction began in a 1925 Point Loma had a new High School of course there was controversy resident said it was ridiculous to build a school so far away from town out in the middle of nowhere it's funny but they kind of had a if you freeze this shot looking down Chatsworth you'll notice a lot of empty space if only my grandparents would have bought all that to fill this new school can one janitor three cafeteria workers in a school nurse a dozen or so teachers and a couple hundred students happy students  the dedication ceremony was a pretty big deal cheered on by Point loma's first cheerleader  go PL  from the beginning Point Loma voice been big on Sports on the side of the new school was the new football field talk about a contact sport no wineries here right uniforms were a little different and honestly it was hard to tell who's the home team I'm sure our cheerleader knows though now that is Mr zygier was even there if you look close you may even spot Benny Edens  the first garage in class of Point Loma consisted of seven students three boys and four girls Point Loma was off to a strong start I love seeing pictures of the original building to me you look like one of those maybe League schools UC back east  unfortunately sometime in the mid-seventies some Bozo decided Point Loma wasn't earthquake safe then it was time for a change the funny thing is it took two different Wrecking Balls and weeks of demo before she come down seems the walls were a little stronger than a spaded nevertheless we got a new school well it had been a little while since my days at Point Loma I didn't say a long while I said a little while so I thought I'd stop in and see what was new  as I entered the library immediately a wave of old memories enter my mind playing on the baseball team hanging with friends I met my wife here to we even got class couple now there's someone I haven't seen since high school Bob's Big Boy  after meeting the librarian I found out one thing a changed they're not called Librarians anymore but library media teachers either way she was very nice as we spoke I found out Point loma's had some students that are almost as famous as me first there's Marion Ross you know mrs. C on Happy Days then there's Don Larson has a Yankee Don pitched a perfect game in the World Series and then it happened again my OB Brother David Wells through another No-No while pitching for the Yankees to point loma's in represented well in the NFL the Roy Glover six-time pro bowler Eric Allen 14 years in the NFL and no doubt a future Hall of today working for ESPN how about Susie spafford Susie is the creator of the world famous Susie's new their Rockstar Jason scheff rock band Slightly Stoopid movie star Margaret Avery swimmer Florence Chadwick sailor Dennis Conner artist Stephen Curry sessions we have a few they're still Lowry firing where and John dubeck I know there's a lot of famous people I've missed in not only do we have Academy Award winners people on Broadway and Pulitzer Prize winners we have a whole lot of average people too as I walked around the campus I realized Point Loma hasn't missed a step ranking tops and academics as well as Athletics Point Loma continues to empower engage and educate our over the years the faces may have changed along with the Styles but one thing will always remain the same sum single carry on with us forever it's called pointer Pride go PL
