Doug Booth, Grossmont College/Point Loma High School , is both an instructor and a performer of guitar and bass. His classes include Music theory I and II for guitar and bass at Grossmont College as well as Introduction to Music Production Technology and Computerized Graphic Designat PLHS. Beginning at the age of ten, Doug has studied piano, flute, and percussion, in addition to the bass and guitar. Interested in many different styles of music, he eventually found that his ear "bent" towards the jazz guitar styles of Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, and early George Benson. By age fifteen Doug was chosen to play with the Santa Clara Honor Jazz Band and a year later with the California All State Jazz Band. You can hear Doug Booth on a variety of recordings including the recordings of the jazz fusion group, Ars Nova, singer song wrriter Mark DeCerbo www.decerbo.com and Zappa guitarist Mike Keneally's internationally released CD's. Mr. Booth is currently performing with "Rockola" which can be found performing locally, and internationally. He can also be seen playing keyboards with "The Steely Damned."
