Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!

 

My name is Mr. Posternack, and I am excited be your AP Literature/American Literature teacher this year. I will be utilizing Google Classroom for our LMS, the code for your section is below. You should join your specific class period asap and are highly encouraged to invite your parents/guardians as well. All relevant information about our class and assignments can be found on our Google Classroom page. If you are enrolled in AP Literature, we will also be using the College Board / AP Classroom so be sure to know your college board account information.

If there is ever a question about class content, grading, assignments or expectations that can not be found on the syllabus below, it is always best if the student contacts me themselves. I am really excited about our time together as a class look forward to meeting y'all.

Teacher Bio:

After being born and raised in Chicago, Illinois I attended Miami (Ohio) University and earned my BA in English/Creative Writing. This will be my 28th year teaching in America's public schools, 23th at PLHS and 19th teaching AP Lit. I was also our Head Varsity Baseball coach from 2005-2012. After joining TFA (Teach For America) in 1998 and teaching in Houston for 4 years I moved to San Diego and taught at Morse High. While at PL, I have also taught 9th and 10th grade English, helped found our currently defunct Writer's Workshop program and coached 9th grade girls' volleyball for years. I love music and travel, reading and art, good food, pop culture and the Chicago Cubs. My wife and I have been happily married for 20 years and have two daughters aged 16 and 13. We have 3 kitty cats and a 16-year-old rescue dog, Buddy.
