Get to Know Your Principal

Dear Point Loma High School Community,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!

It is with immense pride and respect that I have the privilege of leading Point Loma High School.  With its traditions of success both in and out of the classroom, I am excited to be part of this amazing school.  I am a native San Diegan with stints around the world being part of a Navy family (living in South Carolina, Guam, and the Philippines).  I have over 23 years of experience in education, having taught Biology, AP Biology, and AVID for a decade.  For the last 13 years, I have been in administrative roles, including having been an Associate Principal and most recently a Principal at another high school in Escondido.  I am eager to bring my extensive experience to PLHS and continue to help prepare our students for college, career, and life.

My educational journey started here at Point Loma where I was an AVID tutor in 2002.  I remember working on the second floor of the round building.  From that simple beginning of helping students with tutorials and binder checks to now being the principal of this same school, it is very humbling and I value the trust that has been given to me to lead.

My educational philosophy has always revolved around helping ALL students find success, be it in college or straight to a career/military, but always success in life.

Our Pointers should leave our school with the skills and resilience to be well-rounded and critically thinking members of our society.  Our job here at Point Loma High School is to prepare our students for whatever they decide to do after graduation.  

As a new Pointer, I hope to integrate myself into the fabric of the school, learn the community, be a part of the culture of PLHS, while continuing to innovate and encouraging our staff and students to grow and push for ever higher levels of success.

I look forward to meeting and working with families, students, staff, and our community to build a school environment that fosters success in academics, personal growth, and the building of skills that prepares our Pointers for life after high school.
