The #1 PL team of Freshmen Ivan Thamma and Keegan Smith won the 2nd CIF San Diego Doubles title in the history of PL tennis (Kelly Jones-Lance Larieu won the first title in 1981). Seeded #3, Smith & Thamma beat the #1 Seeds Rivard-Yamamoto from La Costa Canyon (6-2, 6-4) in the Semi-Finals. The two Pointers then completed their dream tournament with a (7-6 [3], 6-2) triumph over the #2 team of Timothy Sah and Sreegenesh Monohanan from Torrey Pines in the finals. Smith & Thamma did not lose a set during the CIF tournament.
Earlier in post-season play, Smith & Thamma won their first Eastern League Doubles title beating a team from Serra HS (6-0, 6-2) in the finals., Once again, the two swept all their matches, not losing a set at the Eastern League Finals.
Ivan is a highly ranked USTA National and SCTA Sectional player in B16's Singles and B18's Doubles. Keegan has also achieved success and high rankings in the SCTA 16's Singles and B16's Doubles categories.
