OBTAINING A 2026 SUMMER WORK PERMIT
1. Complete and print an application for a work permit: CDE Form B1-4(DOC)
2. The application must be complete, including your parent/guardian signature, the employer signature, and date. It is necessary to include the social security number. All signatures must be original/wet signatures. No electronic signatures accepted on the B1-1 document.
3. Submit the work permit application to the SDUSD Office of Extended Learning Opportunities from May 26, 2026 (TUE) through August 6, 2026 (THUR) from 12 noon- 3:00pm. The office will be open to process work permits every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the May 26- August 6 timeframe between the hours of 12:00 noon to 3:00pm.
4. Please note that the office is closed on Monday's and Friday's during the May 26, 2026 -August 6th, 2026 summer timeframe.
5. Please allow 1-2 weekdays for the processing of the work permit.
*Work permits expire one week after school starts and minors who are still working must renew their work permit. This can be done at your school site.
Students not attending a San Diego Unified School District School will need to work with the school district within their area of residency to obtain a work permit.
