Point Loma High School

Seniors - Message from Mr. Becker to the Class of 2020

Pointer Class of 2020.

Please know that I have been thinking about all of you. Your senior year should be a special time with an amazing ending.  I am very sorry that is not the case for us at this point of the year. Please know that we have many groups across the district looking for possible ways to end strong for our seniors. We definitely find ourselves in extraordinary circumstances for the class of 2020.  Please know that my commitment is to keep you updated with the most current information. Also, if this or any information changes, I will email, post and send call outs. Here is what we know TODAY.

PLHS Senior Class 2020: Q & A

The following class of 2020 events have been cancelled by SDUSD:

Senior Prom, Senior Breakfast, Senior Yearbook Signing Party, Senior Awards ceremony and Salute to Excellence (If the opportunity presents itself, the district may try to reschedule or create some other opportunity to celebrate Salute to Excellence).

Commencement / Graduation:

The plan for commencement / graduation ceremony has not yet been determined and will be updated when more information is available.

Senior Dues:

With the SDUSD cancellation of all class of 2020 activities, there are currently no costs associated with these events. More information on this to follow.

GradNite:

GradNite is not a district run activity and is managed by Disneyland. As of April 9, GradNite has NOT been cancelled. If Disneyland cancels the event, all monies will be refunded.

Yearbooks:

Distribution - Yearbook distribution will be addressed once the shelter-in-place order has been lifted and we receive approved dates and protocols for returning back to our campuses. The yearbook is complete and will be amazing.

PLHS Scholarships:

Please visit PLHS counseling website to submit an application. We will still have scholarships this year for students who qualify!
