Chemistry 1,2 (Period 1,6) Assignments

Good Morning Chemistry,

 

You have made it, the end of school is in sight.  I will take attendance this Friday at 2.  I will mark you present if you submit an assignment, email me, and/or comment on the post in GC.

 

I am sorry our school year was cut short.  I admire all of you for hanging in there during this difficult time.  It will get better.  I read an article from an Italian doctor today who insists that he is noticing the virus becoming less deadly.  Hopefully this thing is mutating in a beneficial direction for the human race.

 

I hope you all get to have a somewhat normal summer and I look forward to saying hi next year face to face!

 

Thanks for all of your hard work throughout the school year, whether you like Chemistry or not, I appreciate your effort at good cheer and critical thinking :)

Attached is your next assignment, COVID13.  Good job to all of you who continue to do work!  It's never to late to turn something in.  Tomorrow I will begin evaluating your work again, I've been busy with AP Chem.  Their exam was today.  I wish you all the best of luck who are preparing for ap exams.  Actually, the best of luck to everybody in dealing with this difficult shelter at home!

Good Morning Chem,

 

I have added a new book assignment on google classroom, as well as posting it here.  Please take a photo of your handwritten answers and submit.  There is an easy way to do it that I wasn't aware of!!  Get the mobile app for Google Classroom!  When you click at the bottom "Your Work" you can add a file, choose photo, and take a photo using the app.  Sorry I wasn't aware of that at the beginning, electronic submissions are new to me :)    At least you know another way of doing it by emailing the photo to yourself.  It's a learning process for all of us.

 

I will start grading work again this afternoon.  I have been spending a tremendous amount of time with AP Chem.  Any of you taking an AP exam know that the technical issues associated with testing are real and AP Chem will need to photograph and submit handwritten answers.  Do you have any questions about AP testing?  Email me, I have been studying the testing guide for the last 5 days!!

I'm submitting grades today, as of March 13.  I used attendance for March 4 - 13 to determine your citizenship grade.  I used your joining of google classroom or logging on to Canvas for your attendance this week.

Thanks to all who are emailing me, it's the only way for me to help you troubleshoot.

1.3, those questions are thought questions.    1.5 In order to submit you have to click the blue "submit assignment" button first, then you get the text box that allows you to respond.

 

Some of you are frustrated with the submission format in the google classroom.  Download the free app, Camscanner, it makes it really easy to photograph with your phone, then access their website with your computer, to get your photo (or pdf) to submit.

This is where you will turn in the work that I have already assigned from the book.  Email me with any concerns/questions you have.  I have not assigned anything new, I just posted the old assignments one more time.  It's ok if you printed out the pdf and wrote directly on the paper like a worksheet, OR, answered the questions on a separate sheet of paper.  You are going to photograph your work and upload it.  Look at the directions for COVID1.  I don't want any typed answers.

 

Starting on Monday we will be doing assignments on Canvas.  But you can turn in the old assignments (COVID 1-9) until June 1 on the google classroom.  More instructions about Canvas on Monday.
