Spanish 1-2 Assignments

Today we completed the four lessons on clothing on Duolingo.com.  If students were not able to complete the work in class, they have until 7:00pm tonight to complete the four lessons. 

 

The Unidad 4 Lección 1 vocabulary list was split in two.  The new vocabulary list focuses on Clothing, fit, styles, and shopping. Copy this list from the class page to your account, the new title is, Unidad 4 Lección 1: La Ropa y Las Tiendas.  Study this new list instead of the old one.

 

We also played Quizlet live with Unidad 4 Lección 1: La Ropa y Las Tiendas vocabulary.

 

Bring fashion magazines to class tomorrow. We will cut out pictures of clothes and accessories and make a poster with the various items from our vocabulary.

Continuing our study of clothing and shopping, we completed today Page 196 from our textbooks.  Each item needs a question and answer (¿Cuánto cuesta la blusa? La blusa cuesta treinta y tres euros.)  

 

We also played Mentiroso-Mentirosa with the images from the PowerPoint on clothing.

 

Focus your study of the vocabulary on terms number 43 to 72.

Students had a textbook check today worth 10 points. They translated the five sections from the Presentación de Vocabulario section from their textbook on pages 194 and 195.  Those that did not bring a textbook to class had to  write their Spanish vocabulary terms three times in Spanish and once in English from #41 to 72 as an alternate assignment.

Today we entered our new vocabulary list for Unidad 4 Lección 1 to quizlet.com.  We are studying vocabulary terms fro, 1 to 83 on the first page only.  The rest we will cover at at later date.   You are responsible for studying these words everyday for at least 20 minutes.  Ask your families to help you study and practice the vocabulary as well.

Today we practiced theUnidad 3 Leccion 1 Vocabulario and competed in QuizletLive.

We took notes from  PowerPoint on AR, ER, and IR verbs.

We played BUQUE to practice our AR ER and IR verbs.  Six verbs were conjugated on each side.

We completed three activities from page 140-151 from ¡Avancemos! 1

We made Verb Flip Charts for verbs with -ar, -er, and -ir endings.  Inside the pages, we wrote the conjugations for several verbs.

 

We practiced the trabalenguas for recite three times on Friday April, 14.

We reviewed the notes on GUSTA and GUSTAN and the five ways to use them with the pronouns ME, TE, LE, NOS, LES.  We also completed the writing activities in the GUSTA vs GUSTAN packet.

The students worked on Duolingo.com, continuing from where each student was at last time until 50 points are accrued. We later participated in a class competition on Quizlet.live

Today we translated several sentences from our current vocabulary Unidad 3 Lección 1. The students did a dictation and drawing activity as well.

We wrote a six sentence paragraph describing ourselves and drew a picture to accompany the writing assignment.

Today we began watching the film THE PERFECT GAME about the 1950 little league baseball team from Monterrey, Nuevo León, México.

Today we completed and activity for the new Unidad 3 Lección 1. 

¡Buenas tardes!  Hoy en clase nosotros practicamos el vocabulario de Unidad 2 Lección 2 con un juego de mesa (board game).  En casa por favor estudia el vocabulario y los verbos TENER, ESTAR (para expresar las emociones), e IR (para expresar a dónde va cada persona y los lugares).  

 

 

 

We focused our work today on reading and reading comprehension.  We completed the first assignment, LEER A, with the use of our vocabulary lists and answered the questions in Spanish in complete sentences. LEER C was read and answered completely without the use of the vocabulary lists.   This wil help prepare students for the Unidad 2 Lección 2 exam on Monday March 13.  They cannot use their notes nor vocabulary lists to help them on the exam.

Today we completed the sentence writing from a PowerPoint on the verb IR and destinations.  We wrote the sentences with the correct form of IR and the destination in Spanish and we translated those sentences to English.

Today we completed an activity focusing on feelings, things in the classroom and places at school.

 

Families, help your students practice the vocaulary for 20 minutes at home today.  A copy of the vocabulary list for Unidad 2 Lección 2 is posted among our class assignments.

 

REMEMBER THAT THE UNIDAD 2 LECCIÓN 2 EXAM IS ON MONDAY, MARCH 13.

Today we played a vocabulary game focusing on the left column terms which are the nouns.  It is apparent in our classes which students need to study or perhaps study more.

Today we worked on a vocabulary practice activity focusing on nouns (places and things at school) and adjectives (emotions with the verb ESTAR).

Today in class we did a dictation activity in both English and Spanish.  If you were absent today, you need to come in at lunch, Advisory or after school to make up this assignment before Friday the 10th of March.

 

Continue studying the vocabulary at home every day for at least 20 minutes.

Today the students worked on the verb IR which means to go. The assignment completed was from the textbook page 121 Activity 13. They also has to respond to questions in Spanish.

 

Afterwards, they did a vocabulary practice where they had to write the terms in English and in Spanish and provide a drawing for each item.

 

Families, please encourage your students to study their current vocabulary terms for Unidad 2 Lección 2.

Today we entered the new vocabulary for Unidad 2 Lección 2 in Quizlet.com.  Students, If you have not finished the borrador of your ensayo, Mi Familia, You need to come in during lunch or after school to complete it.  If you're not sure if you did, come see me at lunch or after school.  

 

Bring your textbooks tomorrow. We will use them in class. Study the new vocabulary set every day for twenty minutes.   

Since Thursday last week the students have been writing their essay about their families.  The essay cannot be written outside of class.  The essay is due tomorrow.  

Families, Ask your students about their progress for this essay and who they wrote their essays on. 

Today we began work on the essay about our family.  The students are writing in Spanish about four family members and need to research the following information about the relatives:

The research should be done at home and the essay writing must be done entirely in the classroom without the aid of electronic translators.  Students are to write independently and may only use their textbooks and vocabulary lists to help them in the writing process.  The rough draft of the essay is due on Tuesday, February 14. 

 

Families, Help your students with their research and provide them with as much information as possible on their relatives.

This week we will do a review  of fist semester concepts.  All students received a four day packet of reading ad writing material that will help them practice some language concepts from the first semester.  

 

All students are to bring their textbooks to class everyday this week to help them with the reading and writing activities in class.  

 

FAMILIES: Review all vocabulary lists on Quizlet.com with your students everyday.  Play the vocabulary games, help your students practice all the vocabulary terms and find out which terms your student should be studying more.  This will help your student to become a stronger Spanish student.

Today we completed the survey and the Top five sentences for reviewing the verb tener.  Tonight the students will complete the bottom four sentences on tener que and their translations.

We did a practice of the verb tener (to have), and tener que (to have to...)

We reviewed yesterday's class activity and completed today's class activity on telling time and sentence translation.  We also celebrated El día de los reyes with a rosca de reyes.

 

Continue studying the vocabulary and complete any unfinished assignments from this past week.

To practice with the new vocabulary on school, schedules and time, read and translate the sentences in sections A - D on pages 86-87. Then write questions and answers about the number of people in the classes in Activity 2 on page 88.

Today in class we entered our new vocabulary from Unidad 2, Lección 1 to Quizlet. Students are required to study all terms from this list daily for 20 minutes.

 

Bring your textbooks to class tomorrow for a class reading activity.

 

 

Geography Test this Friday, November 18 on the Spanish Speaking Countries and their Capitals in Spanish.  The focus is on the 19 Spanish Speaking Countries of Latin America.

 

To practice, refer to pages 10 to 14 of the Geography of Latin America Unit.

 

"El Rock de las capitales" song by Pam Kaatz to practice the Spanish Speaking countries and their capitals.

 

The test will be a map where students will need to label each country with the appropriate country name and capitol in Spanish.  It is worth 38 points.
