2022-23 Clinic and Tryout Information!
- Applications https://forms.gle/KuY71HaxZbHHa2Rw6 due midnight May 25
- Clinics - optional - May 31 and June 1, 4-5:30, PLHS small gym. Interviews will also be held during those 2 days (during 6th period for current PLHS returning cheerleaders, and after the clinics for any new athletes)
- Athletic clearance - may not be completed prior to June 6
- Tryouts - June 8, PLHS small gym, 4-6:30 (tryout groups will be announced that week)
- Final squad announcement - June 8 in the evening
- New squad meeting - June 10, 6 PM, via Zoom
- Uniform measuring day - likely June 13, 4 PM, at PLHS
You must have athletic clearance to tryout. This can take some time to happen, so the earlier you start the clearance process, the better! You can get cleared/have a physical no earlier than June 6, 2022 https://plhsfightingpointers.com/athletic-clearance/
We are excited to announce our new head cheer coach for 2022-23 - Coach Kerena Monroig! Kerena is herself a Pointer, and coached at PLHS as the JV cheer coach in 2021-22. We know she will be a great addition to the Pointer staff and will bring amazing new life to our cheer program.
We do not yet have a cheer advisor for next year.
NOTE: We always prefer to hear from cheerleaders themselves (instead of parents) with questions or concerns. We try to teach our student athletes to self-advocate, so parents, please ask your cheerleader to contact us if needed. Thank you!
