Introduction
I am a teacher of Spanish at Point Loma High School.  I have taught various levels of Spanish in the San Diego unified School District for close to twenty years. My first year of teaching was at Point Loma High School followed by seven years at Bell Junior High School and ten at Clairemont High School.  I also coached soccer at Sweetwater High School during my years at Bell.  I have worked in a variety of different areas of San Diego and I believe that this experience has shaped me as both a teacher and a person.

I began speaking Spanish as a youngster at Escuela  Longfellow a Spanish Immersion school in our district. Those years of my life played a huge part in creating the person that today I am.  I appreciate every day my ability to speak two different languages and I hope that I can help students at Point Loma to begin and develop their ability to communicate in different languages.

I have traveled to many different Spanish speaking countries and I use my experiences and travels in order to shape my instruction of the language, culture and music of Spanish speaking people throughout the world.

Thank you for looking for information about my classes.
Here is a link to the class blog which is updated on a weekly basis.
I will post information about what is happening in my classes as well as links to those extra important rubrics for our projects which are assigned  at least once per grading period.

Challenged Athletes Foundation Volunteer Opportunity

Hello CAF Volunteers,

CAF’s first Adaptive Surf Clinic is on Sunday, April 8th with the Ironman Foundation following IM Oceanside 70.3 on Saturday, and we need general volunteers! The clinic will be held just south of the Oceanside Pier, and I would ask you be there from 7:30am-1pm. Attached is the flyer with more info, as well.

Here are a few volunteer roles you can help fill:

  • Registration table check in (participants and volunteers)
  • Gear manager (making sure participants get CAF shirts, rashguards, wetsuits, etc)
  • Unloading/loading surf trailer

If you are interested in volunteering, please email me at lauren@challengedathleter.org and she will send you more info. No need to respond if this does not work for you. I appreciate it in advance!
