PE Athletics
6th Period PE Athletics 2024-25
We have updated our PE Athletics guidelines to provide equitable access to resources and a positive learning environment for our student athletes. See below for the key changes. More specific information on classes can be provided by your student’s counselor.
- Only 10th-grade returning athletes are granted access to PE Athletics at the start of the school year and will remain in PE Athletics for the entirety of the school year.
- 11th-12th grade returning athletes need to work with their counselor to either enroll in Assigned Time Home (if qualified) or PE Athletics for the entirety of the school year.
- PE Athletics is a Physical Education class and will adhere to Physical Education content standards and curriculum.
- Study hall will not be offered - all students will participate in the Physical Education curriculum depending on whether they are an in-season or out-of-season athlete.
- 9th graders will be required to enroll in a 9th-grade Physical Education class except for those athletes whose team practices during 6th period.
- The 9th graders that qualify will not be eligible for PE Athletics until the head coach has confirmed that they are rostered to the team.
- Transfers in and out of PE athletics will only occur during designated transfer periods as to not interfere with academic enrollments. See our grade reporting document for more information.
